Turda Gorge

During the trip we will visit the limestone cliffs of the Turda Gorge. It can be a fantastic experience not only for those who are there for the first time, but also for those who have been through the rift a few times already. Not surprisingly, it is listed as one of the most popular natural attractions in the Trascau Mountains and has been surrounded by folk tales and legends over the centuries. The almost 1.5 km long gorge valley was engraved by the Hesdát stream. Going along the forced meandering stream in the fissure, we pass rock cliffs higher than 250 meters and several caves. Hasadék

The caves are not famous for their size, but because many prehistoric (stone and iron) tools have been preserved in these natural shelters to this day. In the gorge, several plant and animal species have survived the recent ice age that are not found anywhere else in the country, and their nearest habitat is in the Ural Mountains. On the surface of the limestone plateau lining the chasm, arms and dolinas formed due to the dissolving effect of water. It is difficult to describe in words the geological, topographical and biological diversity that characterizes the Turda rift, so we would rather invite and welcome all those interested in the trip to experience the uniqueness of the area on site.
